Enjoying Spain And Its Guadalajara

The beautiful Spain

Spain is absolutely amazing: it is one of those countries that have to be visited at least once in a lifetime. The problem is that there are so many things that you have to see in Spain, that you will need a very long vacation in order to at least start to understand the pure and true spirit of it. Spain is an extremely diverse country, one that will charm you with its picturesque landscapes and with its breathtaking views, it will impress you with the unbelievably rich historical, cultural and architectural heritage, and last but not least, it will win your hearts with its beautiful customs and traditions that managed to survive, especially in the old fishing villages. However, this does not mean that everything you will find in Spain is related to its past: Spain has a long list of attractive, modern cities with a very cosmopolite aspect, cities where you will have a wide variety of entertainment possibilities, places where you will never get bored. One of the most famous and popular tourist destinations in Spain is represented by Guadalajara, a city that waits for its visitors somewhere north of the charming Alcala de Henares, in the centre of the country. You should visit it during one of your Spanish holidays.

A few words about Guadalajara

Guadalajara is one of the most famous names of resorts in Spain; it is a pleasant destination, but don’t wait to see something flabbergasting: it is just a fine place for relaxation. The Civil War brought a lot of damage to the city, which is now a small industrial city that became somewhat scruffy. However, there are a few places where you should go in Guadalajara and a few buildings that deserve your attention, so make sure you don’t miss them! Palacio Del Infantado is one of the monuments that you have to visit, but there is also a series of medieval churches that deserve your attention! The Palace definitely deserves your attention due to the fact that the decorative façade is absolutely wonderful; while the cloister-like patio is one of the most beautiful ferienhäuser spanien
you have ever seen. You also have to try the restaurants, as they all serve delicious local dishes, as for the accommodation, you can choose one of the many hostels, as they all have good services and facilities. Enjoy Guadalajara!

About Author:-

Welcome to clubvillamar, A vacation home rental - A holiday where you can enjoy

A Short Guide To Guadix

Visiting Guadix

Guadix is one of those places in Spain that appear on an important route thanks to which they became famous, but it definitely is a place worth visiting. You’ll find it somewhere between Granada and Almeria and the old Moorish town will immediately win your heart. The cave district represents one of its biggest and most important attractions, still housing 10,000 people. This extremely special quarter stretches over the ruins of the amazing Alcazaba, which appears in front of your eyes right after you step into the old part of the city, beyond the old walls. You’ll find the entrance to the wonderful Barrio Santiago right behind the amazing whitewashed Santiago Church, one of the most beautiful in the city. The outskirts host the lower caves, which are proper cottages with facilities such as electricity, storeys, running water and television. As you walk further and further into the streets of the quarter, things get much more simplified: just a door, a whitewashed front, a chimney and a tiny window. Opposite the San Miguel Church stands the Cueva Museum, in the centre of the Padre Square; the museum is a ‘’must’’ on your list as it will take you insight of the unique and interesting cave culture, having even intriguing reconstructions of what is the troglodytic life.

Other attractions

Guadix is not an outstanding attraction in Spain, but it surely is a pleasant one. It is an old modest place that impresses with its Cathedral dating back to the 16th century, with its Plaza Mayor that gives you the impression of grandeur and with a few mansions that impress with their beauty and their original architectural styles. Now, let’s take a look to what concerns eating, drinking, sleeping and having fun. Well, since it is not a big resort, there are only a few options when it comes to accommodation; however, you can try the Mulhacen Hotel, which will offer you very good facilities and services. Food is very important and since you are in villa spanien Spain, it would be a pity not to try the traditional dishes; the Comercio Hotel has a wonderful restaurant that serves some of the best local dishes. For further information regarding anything that might interest you, don’t hesitate to use the services of the tourism office, as it is there to make sure that you receive all the help you need as a tourist. Have a nice holiday!

About Author:-

Welcome to clubvillamar, A vacation home rental - A holiday where you can enjoy

Things to Do at Calpe, Spain

The Costa Blanca region has many lovely resort towns like Javea, Calpe, Denia and Moraira which may be overlooked by UK tourists as a holiday destination. Most tourists think of Benidorm with its tall hotels and apartments, lovely but over-crowded beaches, nightlife in vibrant British bars, fresh fish & chips, and great fun in the sun.

Calpe

But there is more at Costa Blanca with Calpe. Its apartments and hotels may not be as big as those found in Benidorm but they are close to the coastline which offers lovely beaches without the crowd.

The town is close by with its "old town" situated at a hill top, giving pretty views of the surrounding. The old town offers an interesting labyrinth of narrow streets with long passages, quaint old houses, shops and a local church. There are many larger and modern shops near the coast that line the coast to Arenal Beach, making this stretch a fantastic shopping haven. From Arenal Beach, you can get to Calpe port which showcases "Penon de Ifach"; this stone looks very similar to the infamous Gilbralter Rock albeit a smaller size. You would need to walk to it but the view of north Costa Blanca from there is stunning. However, it takes about 2 hours one way to get to the rock.
But you can enjoy Calpe's famous freshly caught fish in many of the restaurants right at the rock’s base. These restaurants also offer passers-by a complimentary glass of the famous local Sangria, enticing you for a bite.

Holiday places of stay abound on the opposite side along Levante Beach. Nightlife is vibrant here whereas the day is filled with great water sports that include water-skiing and parascending.

Traveling about

It is very easy to move about Calpe and its outskirts in a rental car from the city or Alicante airport. Alternatively there are ferry services from Calpe port to Javea, Benidorm, Altea and Denia as well as some coastline areas that are best view from the sea. Some of these hired boats allow great marine life view through their glass bottoms.
Calpe is famous for its yellow "Submarine" although it is not really a submarine; it is a catamaran sporting glass panels in its hull for passengers to view the marine life in the sea when the boat pushes out to the Rock’s base area. It is an hour’s trip that takes you to the Rock’s far side and back.
Calpe has everything great to offer any ferienwohnung spanien

Contrast Holiday Resorts between Villajoyosa and Benidorm

Villajoyosa is located between two famous Costa Blanca cities: Benidorm and Alicante. It lies at the coastal road of N-332 as a famous and popular resort. It is well known for the brightly colored fishermen's houses along the seafront with its chocolate production. Villajoyosa is often included in the tourist’s itinerary of Spanish coastline resorts.

Chocolate Town

Villajoyosa means "Jewelled Town" as it offers many interesting historical discoveries; it is also known as "Chocolate Haven" as it produces a lot of Spanish chocolate delicacies as well as for its traditional turrón.

Villajoyosa museum showcases the chocolate story of Don Valeriano López who started the chocolate industry here in 1881 as a family business. Today the business has expanded to incorporate advanced technology in its processes although the age old chocolate making recipes are retained and jealously guarded. All tourists should make a trip to this town’s famous Valor chocolate factory. You will be delighted with their signature hot chocolate drinks; it is steaming hot and really tasty; no wonder it is called Chocolate haven.

Fishing Industry

Another attraction at Villajoyosa is the many fishermen’s houses that are brightly painted along the shore line. These multi-colored homes form some beautiful and picturesque scenery at the coast or even from the sea. Its history reflect a very practical aspect of the fishermen’s life; the bright colored homes in various shades of red, ochre, indigo blue and yellow are to enable the fishermen to recognize their homes while they are out at sea. Their brightly colored homes become some sort of a guiding lighthouse to help them get home safely. By being able to view their homes from afar at sea, the fishermen are comforted and motivated during their long hours in the ocean. Villajoyosa fish harbor is always bustling with activities especially during the afternoons when the fish market is on. The day's catch goes on sale to the highest bidder.

The town’s primary economy has been fishing for many centuries; tourism has begun to take over the top spot recently.

Benidorm draws great crowds of tourists with its many offerings of exciting activities such as various theme parks in Terra Mitica, Terra Natura, Aqualandia, Exotic Animal Park and Mundomar Marine. Thousands of tourists come on to enjoy these sights; hence, Benidorm offers a very different flavor from Villajoyosa, its neighbor. The former offers much of its retained original charm with modern resort facilities like hotels and apartments.

It can be a hard choice between the hustle and bustle ferienhaus spanien

Fuengirola and its attractions

Fuengirola is the attractive tourist destination that stays nestled somewhere between Mijas and Benalmadena, on the amazing Costa del Sol, the most famous and popular coast in Spain. Its position is a very privileged one, as it is guarded by the hills of the picturesque Sierra de Mijas; the Sierras de Malaga also protect it, so Fuengirola is happy to enjoy a wonderful climate, the same climate that so much attracts visitors to this beautiful city. When you get to Fuengirola, one of the first things you have to do is to go on a walk along the promenade which offers great views and which is packed with restaurants that serve fresh, delicious local dishes. The list of beaches contains names such as Santa Amalia, San Francisco, Carvajal, Los Boliches and Gaviotas; these are the beaches where you have to spend relaxing hours if you want to get a nice tan: they are all very clean and covered with delicate sands and they are all bathed by crystal clear waters. These beaches are also fantastic for those who love water sports such as sailing, diving, windsurfing or the fishing trips, so there is nothing to stop you from choosing Fuengirola and its beaches as destination for a summer holiday.

Other attractions

Golf lovers will find in Fuengirola no less than 15 top golf courses with wonderful services and facilities. Apart from the golf courses and the beaches, Fuengirola also has a list of monuments and buildings that will surely impress you. For example, you should visit the Sohail Arab Castle and the Roman Baths, spectacular testimonies of the past of this great country. Those who travel with their families and children should take them to the Aquapark, which is available starting with April and finishing with September; the Fuengirola Zoo should also be among your stops, located at just a 10 minutes walk from the busy centre of the town. If you feel like going out of the town, take the bus and go on a 20 minutes ride that will lead you to Mijas, an old and extremely picturesque village that has a very special charm. Back in Fuengirola, visit the ferienhäuser
lloret de mar Church Square and try the tapas bars for a little piece of pure Spain; you will love it! Fuengirola is neither the most popular nor the most famous holiday destination in Spain, but it surely is a very enjoyable one! Try it!

About Author:-

Welcome to clubvillamar, A vacation home rental - A holiday where you can enjoy

Visiting the beautiful Cordoba

A spectacular city

Cordoba used to be the capital of Spain during the time of the Moors and it is a unique city that you will immediately fall in love with, as there is no other place in Spain where the Christianity, the Islam and the Judaism better live together than in Cordoba. This special mix creates an original air about Cordoba, an air that will make your holiday a memorable one. La Mezquita is one of the most important monuments in Cordoba, built by the order of Abd ar-Rahman, the Great Mosque that displays a beautiful architecture: you can read on its walls a few lines from the Koran, but the element that most attracts the attention of tourists is the piece of bone belonging to Muhammad’s arm, making the Mezquita one of the most sacred places in the world. Besides being such a sacred place, the Mezquita is also one of the most beautiful you have ever seen: the Byzantine prayer niche, the amazing columns, the splendid Christian Cathedral that was built within its walls by the order of Ferdinand III, the Naranjos Patio, a court where you will be delighted by the fountains and the orange trees, all these together make the Mezquita one of those monuments that you have to visit at least once in your lifetime.

Other attractions

The Juderia is situated very close to the Mezquita and it represents the Old Jewish Quarter that remained unchanged by the passing of time, the quarter where you can wander along the narrow, cobbled streets, enjoying the beauty of the monuments and the architectural styles of the buildings. The annual festivals represent another important attraction for Cordoba, as they are extremely colored, joyful and the moments when you can get into direct contact with the amazing cultures and traditions of this fantastic country. The Holy Week is the most popular and famous of all the festivals, with dozens of processions; however, the Crosses of May are also popular, as the festival has as main figures crosses made only by flowers.

Accommodation

Many hotels and ferienwohnung
lloret de mar hostels wait for clients in Cordoba with exquisite services and facilities, so accommodation should not be a problem during your holiday. You can choose Eurostars Maimonides, having a superb view towards the La Mezquita or the beautiful Palacio Del Bailio, occupying a palace that dates back to the 16thcentury. Enjoy Cordoba!

About Author:-

Welcome to clubvillamar, A vacation home rental - A holiday where you can enjoy
